Management Analyst
What you'd do
This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Boise, Idaho.
Major duties
As Management Analyst, GS-0343, your typical work assignments may include, but not limited to: Develop, implement, and administer all actions related to the collection, management and reporting of Indian Energy data consistent with Indian Affairs mission, the Administrations priorities, individual Tribes' priorities and goals, and mandated performance targets and milestones. Defines and implements both short term and long-range data management and reporting activities to enhance the operation of the Office of Indian Energy, including multi-year strategic planning. Coordinates data and information requests on behalf of the Office of Indian Energy. Collects and analyzes a myriad of data and information and consolidates into a format that will be included in and become part of a larger study. Monitors organization's strategy for changes in regulatory developments, workforce conditions, emerging priorities and directives from higher authorities and evaluates their impact on the program and its resources and provides interpretative guidance to activities.
What you need to qualify
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Administrative and Management, GS-0343). Applicants who meet the following requirement may qualify for the position at the GS-12 level - One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level monitoring or completing the implementation of reporting requirements and metrics; serve as a lead responding to Department or Bureau data calls; conducting management analyses; drafting and recommending metrics using qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness and improvement of management processes on both a short and long term basis; and conducting studies to evaluate program effectiveness. Applicants who meet the following requirement may qualify for the position at the GS-13 level - One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level providing technical assistance to all levels of management concerning strategic processes and issues; coordinating, overseeing, and monitoring movement of priority actions through all stages; providing planning and analysis; and establishing and/or monitoring a process for data management or system enhancement or design. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date. Additional selections may be made from this announcement if identical vacancies occur in the same location within 90 days from the closing date.
