What you'd do

This position is part of the Haskell Indian Nations University, Bureau of Indian Education (BIE). As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for providing support to the dining facility and assisting with serving food and routine cleaning after each meal.

Major duties

As a Food Service Worker WG-7408-2, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision: Prepare and assist in the preparation of variety of hot and cold foods. Convey food and supplies from various food service areas by carrying or utilizing a mobile cart. Prep and set up food service area under detailed instructions and in accordance with specific area needs. Clean, remove parts, and reassemble equipment and recognizes obvious wear or need for repairs. Load, unload, and clean food carts and food warmers. Assist in stacking food or subsistence items in the storeroom and places supplies in proper storage. NOTE: This position is also being advertised under DE Announcement Number BIE-12986629-26-JCJ DE. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. For this position, the job element method is used to match what the applicant can do against what the work calls for. The knowledge, skills, and abilities of applicants are compared with the knowledge, skills, and abilities (called job elements) needed for success. If applicants have the ability to do the work, they are considered eligible for the job. Applicants who appear to meet the prescribed Screen-out element are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated from consideration. While a specific length of training and/or experience is not required, applicant responses to the questionnaire must be supported by detailed resume work history information.
