What you'd do

Join the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Shared Service Center! We're looking for talented professionals to help deliver solutions that support federal agencies nationwide. As a Human Resources Specialist with the US Office of Personnel Management, Human Resources Solutions, Federal Talent Management Center, Employee Services and Records Management, you will manage customer accounts, advise on HR services, coordinate implementations, resolve service issues, and recommend improvements.

Major duties

Provide technical guidance on Federal benefits, compensation, personnel processing, payroll, leave, and workers' compensation matters. Serve as the primary customer-facing business partner for Shared Service Center customer accounts and service integration. Coordinate issue resolution among customer agencies, technical staff, service providers, and internal stakeholders. Plan, lead, and monitor customer implementation, transition, maintenance, and account-startup activities. Draft project proposals, agreements, cost estimates, funding documents, and related account documentation. Analyze service data, customer feedback, trends, risks, and performance indicators to recommend improvements. Lead meetings, briefings, status updates, and working groups on customer requirements, service issues, and improvements.

What you need to qualify

For the GS 13: You must have have at least one year (52 weeks, full-time) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (or comparable level of experience from outside the Federal service) performing ALL the following duties: Providing technical guidance on human resources matters impacting service delivery to customer agencies; Coordinating with customers, service providers, technical staff, or internal stakeholders to resolve human resources service-delivery issues; Planning and monitoring implementation, transition, maintenance, or expansion of human resources services, including tracking milestones, deliverables, risks, or account documentation; and Analyzing customer requirements, service data, feedback, trends, or operational issues to recommend process, workflow, control, or service improvements. Merit promotion applicants must meet the time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS13 level. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
