MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR I
What you'd do
You will serve as a MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR I in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. This position is being recruited for the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) and may subsequently be realigned under the Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC).
Major duties
You will directly supervise a group of non-supervisory employees by planning, assigning, estimating, scheduling, directing work, and training subordinates. You will recommend or initiate personnel actions, training classes, enforce disciplinary and safety regulations and perform related administrative duties. You will direct accomplishments of work and supervise personnel on job sites to ensure compliance with schedules and completion of work within scope and allocated funds. You will coordinate manpower requirements, with priority of the project, and the availability of materials and equipment and serve as the point of contact for all assigned project requirements. You will be responsible for carrying out Equal Employment Opportunity policies and communicating support of these policies to subordinates. You will assure schedules are met, resources are coordinated, and distribution of workload is balanced to provide optimum operational cost and performance meets customer satisfaction.
What you need to qualify
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
