PROGRAM MANAGER
What you'd do
You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER in the Guided Missile Battleship (BBGN) Program office (PMS 470) within DPAE Combatants of PROGRAM EXECUTIVE OFFICE SHIPS.
Major duties
You will serve as the Acquisition lead for the Guided Missile Battleship (BBGN) program, coordinating efforts with functional PAPNs to manage all programmatic, technical, and financial operations. You will represent leadership in meetings with contractors and provide direction relative to business decisions required to ensure proper control of each contract. You will monitor and resolve complex contractual and legal challenges, coordinating closely with Contracting Officers and Legal Counsel. You will drive the development of program purchase requests, specifications, Statements of Work (SOW), acquisition documentation and actively participate in negotiations and source selections for follow-on procurements. You will apply innovative solutions to overcome complex acquisition hurdles spanning shipbuilding, ship design, integration, budgeting, funding constraints, contracting, invoicing, payment methods, and production concepts. You will direct acquisition studies and coordinate the development of cost estimates and analyses in response to tasking across all phases of ship acquisition. You will develop Congressional briefs, reports to Congress, responses to requests for information and media, industry inquiries, and expert advice to support Congressional testimony.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (or GS-13 equivalent), in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning and executing studies in order to analyze, validate, and present data for the acquisition of systems and allocation of manpower, budget, or other resources; preparing or evaluating technical documents for programs and projects; and evaluating, preparing, and submitting justifications for new programs.
