Major duties
You will provide technical management throughout the acquisition process from concept formulation through production, and for engineering support during service use. You will support navigation and related requirements, systems integration efforts, and technical leadership for enhanced usage of these equipment capabilities. You will assist the IPT leader in the development of goals, objectives, and strategies to meet program requirements. You will define the system architecture, the concept for commonality, and the plan to meet future growth requirements within the context and constraints of the acquisition process. You will develop and maintain area cognizance over assigned systems, their performance specification, interface requirements documents, statements of work, technical directives and other technical documentations.
What you need to qualify
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12/13) grade level or pay band (DP-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Evaluating and Integrating Aeronautical Systems: Applying software assurance principles and technical knowledge of complex Communications, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) capabilities (e.g., PBN, RVSM, ADS-B, GPS/GNSS signals) against commercial and military specifications to guide system development and integration; Navigating Civil & Military Certifications: Managing or guiding aeronautical systems through rigorous military and civil certification processes, including AIMS and RF spectrum certifications via the Navy/Marine Corps Spectrum Center (NMSC), NTIA, and the FCC. Assessing Operations and Airspace Compliance: Evaluating system performance, flight deck procedures, and safety impacts within civil airspace (ICAO, FAA, EUROCONTROL) and military aircraft operations to provide authoritative certification recommendations. Managing Programmatic Risk and Strategy: Assessing programmatic risks, leveraging lessons-learned from previous aircraft integrations, and analyzing worldwide CNS/ATM technology developments to resolve issues and interpret requirements for civil and military aviation operations.
