MAIL CLERK (OFFICE AUTOMATION)
What you'd do
You will serve as a MAIL CLERK (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the MAIL CENTER LOGISTICS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.
Major duties
You will perform a variety of administrative tasks to capture and track costs, distribution, collection, package tracking information, and storage of classified and unclassified mail. You will maintain and apply pertinent organizational data to document cost and performance metrics and ensure data accuracy to generate required management reports for internal and external review. You will provide advice and assistance to staff, faculty, and students regarding mail preparation, guidelines, and procedures. You will assist in establishing and maintaining support data files to identify specific cost centers and organizational uses of material.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Receiving, sorting, screening, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail in accordance with established regulations; 2) Maintaining tracking systems and records for mail distribution, postage, and delivery; and 3) Using office automation tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, office suite) to enter, update, and generate reports on mail operations and costs. This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
