What you'd do

You will serve as the Director for Energetics in the Weapons and Energetics Department of the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD).

Major duties

You will provide overall technical leadership for the quality and execution of NAWCWD’s energetics related work to deliver state-of-the-art weapon system solutions to the Warfighter. You will serve as a recognized technical expert and advisor for a broad spectrum of energetics-related capabilities including research and technology, development, integration, testing, and in-service engineering. You will establish the future direction of energetics in weapons systems. You will define relevant problems, determine the applicable solution techniques, and express the solution in terms that permit its application to specific weapon systems design and research problems. You will serve as a technical consultant to NAWCWD leadership for all technical aspects of research, development, and engineering for energetics materials and components important to the current and strategic interests of the Weapons Division.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (TQs): Your resume should demonstrate accomplishments that would satisfy the technical qualifications: TQ1. Leading People Leadership and management experience of large organizations, including: providing technical vision and strategic focus in the area of Energetics, workforce development, mentoring/coaching technical experts in the field of Energetics and related domains. Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team of subject matter experts and provide technical guidance and supervision to teams executing energetics or related activities. Experience leading and inspiring people through change by initiating exchanges between SMEs and key stakeholders to develop and strengthen strategic partnerships, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance to achieve organizational goals. TQ2. Achieving Results Skilled and knowledgeable in the field of Energetics. Demonstrated ability to achieve critical organizational results by developing and managing Energetics projects, technology development, or related projects; defining and executing strategic initiatives; and overseeing the execution of Energetics related projects. Proven success advising senior leaders on Energetics related issues and technology, ensuring NAWCWD remains at the forefront of Naval Energetics Enterprise now and in the future.
