What you'd do
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the BurgerFi and/or PF Changs at Tyndall AFB, FL.
Major duties
Under designated supervision, prepares and serves simple food and beverage. Operates kitchen equipment in a situation where set procedures are followed. Serves one or more items of food such as salads, meats, vegetables, pizza, grilled items, sandwiches, desserts, ice cream, beverage and replenishes food at serving stations. Receives payment, operates cash register, makes and returns change to patrons and prepares daily cash report and other related documentation. Answers the phone, able to take food orders as well as answer customer questions and articulate brand and menu knowledge. Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting slicing, dicing, pureeing, weighs measures and assembles ingredients for regular menu items; sets up and replenishes salad bar; portions foods for distribution and meal service, and covers, dates, and stores leftovers according to established procedures. Prepares a variety of hot and cold beverages such as brewed coffee and tea. Serves pre-packaged cold beverages and food items, such as wraps, wash, pare and cut vegetables and fruits, hot/cold sandwich, salad, frozen custards, milk shakes, sodas, etc. Maintains required level of sanitation and cleanliness of work area. Sets up and maintains work area in neat and clean manner. Cleans seating areas tables and replenishes condiment station as necessary. Operates dishwasher; scrapes, soaks, scours dishes and utensils. Perform heavy duty cleaning tasks as required in the work area (floors, walls, ceilings) and on/under/behind equipment including coffee machines and refrigerators. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area, and sanitizes garbage cans. Assist with inventories and identifies items for re-ordering; advises management of slow-moving, out-of-stock, defective and damaged merchandise. Opens and closes facility following set procedures. Sets up work area for operation and obtains cash bank. Completes necessary documentation for each funds accountability. Train new employees as needed. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Skill and knowledge to perform tasks involving several procedures, follow simple recipe cards, and identify correct proportions and mixtures to use in preparing beverages. Ability to use hand tools for cleaning and operate simple machines. Knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food, cleaning equipment and work area. Ability to communicate with customers and possess skills in dealing with the public. Physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time. Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or servicing alcoholic beverages based on state requirements. Ability to work an irregular tour of duty, to include weekends, nights and holidays. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
