What you'd do

You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) in the COMPACFLT HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE.

Major duties

You will conduct position management analysis for assigned organizations and aid supervisors and management officials on ways to improve structure, work distribution, and the use of employee skills. You will evaluate and determine appropriate position title, occupational series, and grade against OPM classification standards, DON/DOD classification guidance, and OPM appeal decisions/consistency reviews. You will coordinate potential corrective actions with appropriate departments (i.e., Staffing and/or Labor Relations). You will be responsible for timely review and intake of new requests. You will provide training in less complex areas to management on limited classification and position management subjects.

What you need to qualify

GS-09 Grade level Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing OPM Position Classification Standards and Policies to perform work involving the fundamentals of Human Resources classification principles, policies, practices, methods, and analytical techniques; gathering and analyzing facts and drawing conclusions from information collected; and communicating information orally and in writing. GS-07 Grade level Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying the basic principles, concepts, and methodology used in Human Resources Management; and gathering and analyzing basic facts and drawing conclusions. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
