What you'd do

This position is located in a State or Area Office (Nebraska, Utah, and Wisconsin) in USDA/Rural Development (RD).The incumbent has responsibility for providing State-wide leadership, guidance and review in Community and/or Business Programs for the making and servicing of loans and grants for community facilities, public utilities, and/or businesses. Three (3) vacancies one in each of the states listed above. This vacancy announcement is open to current Rural Development Employees only.

Major duties

As a technical expert, the incumbent is delegated responsibility for the development, management, coordination and administration of an assigned loan and grant program portfolio(s). Conducts evaluation reviews of State-wide performance to determine the effectiveness of the Community and/or Business Programs services. Keeps informed of new polices and directives prepared by the National Office. Prepares written loan approval determinations or recommendations for loan approval and submits to approving official as appropriate. Develops, implements and coordinates a broad and aggressive marketing and outreach program to support all assigned Programs

Time in Grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet the time in grade requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. NOTE: To be considered for this position, you must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements for the GS-1165 series set forth in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards by the closing date of the announcement. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
