General Engineer
What you'd do
This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Facilities Division WCF. As a General Engineer, you will be responsible for activities that ensure WCF is in compliance with all Federal, State of Texas, and local applicable environmental regulations and environmental permits.
Major duties
As a General Engineer, you will: - Employ ingenuity, reason, and logic to maximize the benefit to the BEP for use of limited resources for construction and operation; and provide technical and professional assistance to management and contract A/E firms. - Be responsible for guidance and coordination of various disciplines in complex design development of plans from conception through completion for projects, renovations, and expansions of the WCF. - Review production processes that must be controlled by air pollution control devices and production support processes such as wastewater treatment or water wipe production.
What you need to qualify
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience for the GS-13 is one year of experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent in other public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as: - Participating in assessments, inspections, and audits of facilities and operations to ensure compliance with environmental regulations in a manufacturing or industrial setting; AND - Preparation of regulatory required reporting, regulatory required plans, permit applications and technical reports in a manufacturing or industrial setting; AND -Participating in the planning and execution of engineering projects to improve environmental performance in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
