Food Service Worker
What you'd do
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Shaw Lanes Bowling Center. The purpose of this position is to perform a wide variety of simple cooking tasks.
Major duties
Washes, peels, slices vegetables and other food items. Sliced cooked meats and prepares a variety of sandwiches such as Barbecue, steamed hot dogs, cold salads, etc. Wraps, arranged and packages sandwiches for carry out. Follows various recipes. Serves carbonated and other soft drinks, beer, milk, etc. Makes coffee. Takes orders and serves food items. Dispense candy, potato chips and other snack items. Refills beverage and ice dispensers as required. Washes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, bins. etc. May clear tables, scrub floors, clean hood over grill and carry out trash bags. Receives payment for food items, rings cash register and signs for change fund. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Applicant must have experience or training in food serving and preparation. Applicant must be physically able to lift objects weighing up 45 pounds or occasionally heavier. Must be able to continuously stand and walk, and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for long periods of time. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's certificate. Must have cash register experience. Must meet the appropriate age requirement for serving alcoholic beverage. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical examination.
