What you'd do

As a Management Analyst, you will plan and conduct studies related to management improvement issues. You will advise on the impact of changes in mission or resources and recommend alternative courses of action and possible solutions for resolving management problems in areas such as systems, manpower utilization, productivity management, workflow, and paperwork management.

Major duties

Employ advanced qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze, evaluate, and/or improve the efficiency of internal administrative operations, organizations, or management. Develop, coordinate, and implement performance measures to evaluate organizational productivity. Establish study methods and techniques to be utilized in complex studies and audits. Develop recommendations including work method and procedural changes, systems variations, and acceptance of new technology developments. Recommend strategies to improve program implementation and evaluations. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of complex administrative operations. Develop modifications, revisions, and implement procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

What you need to qualify

You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following qualification requirement: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: conducting studies to evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures related to the management and administration of information management systems, human capital planning and financial and budgeting operations; writing administrative standard operating procedures; conducting analyses of administrative and management operations functions and work processes including examination of deviations from standards; conducting analyses of administrative and management operations functions and work processes including areas such as systems, manpower utilization, productivity management, workflow, and paperwork management; and developing findings and conclusions regarding management operations. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
