Major duties

Professional knowledge of accounting principles, theories, procedures, concepts, and practices, and knowledge of the program goals, objectives, and major issues affecting accounting and finance operations. Extensive knowledge of automated accounting and accounting systems, policies, procedures, and practices which are used in accomplishing accounting functions to meet prescribed requirements. Skill in adapting conventional financial, accounting, and analytical techniques to solve a variety of accounting problems. Ability to interpret, apply and develop new guidelines and principles to administer resource management functions.

What you need to qualify

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Routinely research and analyze financial data to provide strategic, managerial advice to commanders, program directors, and financial managers. Effective cross-agency communication, I develop procedures, author instructions, and ensure the absolute integrity and compliance of accounting records. Applying advanced accounting principles, theories, and practices to support Department of Defense and Defense Finance and Accounting Service operations. Possess DAI background with understanding of MOCAS processes. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
