What you'd do

Directs the work of subordinate employees and/or managers for multiple organizational units/projects/programs and across multiple function and/or disciplines within a major subdivision.

Major duties

Strategic planning, communicating the organization's vision and objectives, setting priorities, assigning tasks and responsibilities, monitoring and evaluating performance of organizational units, coaching and developing staff and organizational capabilities, approving leave, and taking, recommending, or approving corrective/disciplinary action as appropriate. Applies an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed and an advanced knowledge of budget, position management, staffing, training certification and other administrative policies and procedures, and an advanced understanding of the objectives and FAA. Performance of such duties requires knowledge of ATO policies/guidance: ATO management resources, administrative policies and procedures advanced understanding of objectives of the organization and general knowledge of human resources management. Supports the Director and ATO strategic goals by managing a workforce responsible for position management, financial integrity and facility training programs. Communicates the FAA, ATO and Service Center vision and mission. Performs resource management support services for the Director of the Service Center, Directors of Operations, and their managers. Provides consultation in position management, cost management and training quota management. Performs resource/business analysis and reconciliation, resource/business management reporting, and NAS business performance data analysis.

What you need to qualify

To qualify for this position at the FV-K level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FG/GS-14. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is: Experience overseeing programs, operations, and/or resource management functions. Experience in strategic planning methods to set priorities and/or guide organizational decisions. Experience monitoring progress and controlling program activities to achieve intended outcomes.
