Southern District of Florida in Miami, Florida. The selectee of this position serves as an Administrative Officer. You will be responsible for overseeing the activities, projects, and mission needs of the District. This includes coordinating all activities in support of the operational mission.

Major duties

As an Administrative Officer at the GS-0341- 13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Analyzing District financial operations for efficiency and makes adjustments as necessary to improve effectiveness. Monitoring administrative services and related actions for deficiencies and to ensure corrective action occurs. Planning the work to be accomplished by subordinates, establishes priorities, assigns work, evaluates work performance, provides advice, counsel, and guidance to subordinates Developing short and long range plans for District administrative operations. Ensuring the administrative and financial management activities are performed accurately and timely in accordance with established regulations and policies. Forecasts district financial needs to ensure district funds are obligated and spent in an appropriate manner, staying within allocated funds while dealing with changes in programs, staffing levels, and/or unanticipated events tied to mission workload. Develop and implement effective and regular communication with staff as well as agency divisions: Human Resources, Information Technology, the Procurement Office, Financial Service, and the Management Support Division. What you need to qualify

GS-13 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). You may qualify at the GS-0341-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year (12 months) of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Reviewing policies and procedures to recommend improvements to administrative operation's effectiveness and efficiency; Providing advice related to personnel functions such as hiring, employee performance, and/or training; Ensuring all procurement actions are processed in adherence to applicable statutes and regulations; and Monitoring the execution of an organizations approved budget to ensure that funds are obligated and spent in an appropriate and effective manner. (NOTE: Your resume must CLEARLY demonstrate this experience). Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level.
