What you'd do

You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGER in the COMPTROLLER DEPARTMENT of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE, (NWC)

Major duties

You will serve as the primary financial advisor and technical expert to the President, Provost, and Chief Operating Officer/Chief of Staff and their staffs. You will provide staff leadership and technical guidance in reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, and reporting financial program accomplishments. You will ensure complete accountability for federal financial resources and provides full disclosure of financial actions in compliance with statutory, requirements, regulations, directives, procedures and local policies. You will direct the financial management program. You will implement and maintain an effective system of financial internal controls.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Leading an enterprise-level financial management program, including planning, programming, budgeting, and execution of appropriated and reimbursable funds; 2) Serving as a principal advisor to senior executives, providing authoritative analysis and recommendations on resource allocation, fiscal strategy, and program performance; 3) Analyzing financial trends and variances and presenting financial briefings to senior stakeholders; and 4) Applying financial regulations to develop policies, interpret guidance, and/or support organizational mission objectives.
