ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT
What you'd do
You will serve as a Administrative Support Assistant in the Navy Recruiting Command of NAV RECRUITING DISTRICT NEW ORLEANS.
Major duties
You will monitor administrative action items (e.g., personnel actions) to ensure completion prior to suspense or due date. You will obtain documents and messages electronically using personal computer, fax machines, and scanners to support the administrative procedures. You will proofread reports, documents or correspondence to correct format, spelling, or grammatical errors. You will analyze and recommend improvements to office systems or processes.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Operating office equipment such as copiers, personal computers and fax machines to create, edit, receive and send emails and other correspondence, reports, presentations, and various supporting documents; 2) Developing spreadsheets, maintaining various databases and tracking systems to ensure data correctness and completion; 3) Reviewing documents for proper formatting and accuracy in spelling, grammar and punctuation.
