Major duties

Serving as a Media Support Branch Chief GS-0301-14 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is within the Media Support Branch (MSB), Office of Public Affairs (OPA) under the Director's Office (DO) and located in Glynco, Georgia. The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct oversight, administration, and supervision of a broad range of complex media and publishing services provided to the FLETC enterprise at all training delivery points, as well as a variety of federal agencies that partner with the FLETC. Typical duties include: Manages and coordinates MSB's annual budgetary requirements commensurate with guidance from the Chief, Office of Public Affairs. Creates and manages the policy, procedure, guidance, and governance supporting the delivery of media services. Establishes standards and repeatable processes to reduce waste, redundancy, and inefficiency in MSB operations. Responsible for producing and overseeing still photo and video content archives and ensuring proper information management of all historical content. Assists subordinates in establishing tactical goals and objectives aligned to FLETC's and DHS' strategic goals and objectives; inspires and motivates subordinates toward their achievement. Develops, reviews, and refines policies and procedures, evaluates and adjusts staffing and financial resources, and establishes performance goals for organizational media services. For additional assistance, please visit: USAJOBS Help Center - Update your resume now so it meets new resume requirements Specialized Experience Required: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level (1) Planning, developing, and implementing policy, procedures, and guidelines for media services and products within a large organization, including communicating available services to internal and external stakeholders. (2) Managing a full life cycle of media products and services, including planning, budgeting, acquisition, equipment inventory, and program oversight. (3) Overseeing and coordinating annual budgetary requirements, monitoring budget status throughout the fiscal year, and making long-term financial plans for media-related funds. (4) Directing and supervising a multidisciplinary workforce, including television studio, photographic lab, and graphic arts shop personnel, to deliver high-quality media support services to a diverse customer base. (5) Providing leadership in the documentation and production of still and video content for high-level events, official visits, graduations, and conferences, as well as managing official portrait and passport photo services. (6) Utilizing innovative media technology and best practices to meet customer needs and improve service delivery, including oversight of web content management and the implementation of website improvements. NOTE: Education does NOT subsistute specialized experince for this position. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement. FERS retirees receiving a FERS annuity supplement must also be aware that, like social security benefits, their FERS annuity supplement is subject to an earnings test and may be reduced if the salary earned is more than the social security exempt amount of earnings.
