What you'd do

You will serve as a ASSESSMENTS PROGRAM MANAGER in the ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION of COMNAVREG SE JAX.

Major duties

You will provide a full range of professional environmental services for protecting or improving air, land, water and other natural and cultural resources to all Navy and marine Corps activities within the NAVFAC Area of Responsibility (AOR). You will plan team audits on both a short and long range basis, considering personnel availability, customer requirements and type of work effort involved. You will perform engineering and scientific analysis of data to determine and track trends, and identify corrective measures for various routine and non-routine environmental deficiencies and liabilities .

What you need to qualify

This position has a selective placement factor for the 0819 series, Environmental Engineer Position, that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Current license as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico for the Environmental Planner position. You MUST provide a copy of your current registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting integrated external assessments or audits of the Environmental Management System (EMS) at installations to identify deficiencies and areas of concern; 2) Providing guidance for the execution of corrective actions and procedures for environmental deficiencies at installations; 3) Creating and executing audit plans, reports and other pre-audit documentation required for implementation by installations to be audited; 4) Maintaining communication and coordination with installations and/or units to ensure successful implementation of their EMS program. **NOTE: This information must be supported by your resume in order to be considered for the position.** Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series AND https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/files/all-professional-engineering-positions-0800.pdf Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
