What you'd do

As a Supervisory Information Technology (IT) Specialist/Audit Manager, you will be assigned to the Office of Audits (JA), Office of Inspector General (OIG), General Services Administration (GSA). Location of position: Office of Audits Information Technology Audit Office (JA-T) 1800 F St NW Washington, D.C. 20405 We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

Major duties

Under the general guidance of the Associate Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Auditing (ADAIGA), the Supervisory IT Specialist provides expert technical advice and guidance and serves as an IT Audit Manager. Specifically, the applicant will perform the following: Participates in audits from the JA audit plan and conducts high‐priority, quick‐response reviews requested by OIG leadership, GSA officials, and Congress. Independently leads and executes internal audits of GSA IT systems, focusing on cybersecurity threats, system vulnerabilities, and IT risk areas. Directs and coordinates multiple audits involving Agency IT systems; monitoring the Agency's progress in remediating reported security incidents and system vulnerabilities; and evaluating the effectiveness of the Agency IT security program. Analyzes audit workloads and staffing for assignment planning; recommends resources for audit assignments and scheduling; identifies and suggests audit program priority changes to ADAIGA/DAIGA//AIGA. Ensures draft and final audit products are technically accurate and compliant with OIG/JA policies and GAO Government Auditing Standards. Represents the JA at meetings and briefings with senior OIG, GSA, and other Federal officials; briefs audit results to DAIGA and AIGA, agency leadership, other audit agencies, and Congressional staff.

What you need to qualify

The GS-14 salary range starts at $143,913 per year. To qualify, you must meet the following requirements: Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the nine IT Specialist competencies AND one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service as described below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Specialized experience is: leading high‐visibility IT audits requiring complex technical testing of information systems; managing multi‐system audit projects; coordinating systems, processes, and internal controls; applying GAO Government Auditing Standards; verifying NIST SP 800‐53 compliance; developing and improving audit procedures; integrating team analyses; reviewing and approving audit workpapers; preparing draft and final audit reports, findings, and recommendations; and presenting audit results to senior officials.
