Major duties
Directly assists the commander/director in the management of all administrative support program functions. Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs. Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the personnel flight on military personnel issues. Assists in planning, administering, and monitoring manpower resource requirements. Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization.
What you need to qualify
Experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of general experience equivalent at the next lower grade (NK-1 or GS-04) in Federal service or equivalent in other pay systems or (2) years education above the high school level. General experience includes administrative support programs to include but not limited to task management, cyber-security liaison (CL), Government Travel Card (GTC) program, Defense Travel System (DTS) administrator, drug demand reduction program, health care program, fitness program, Government Purchase Card (GPC) program, safety program, Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) accounts, security program, supply program, civilian time card program and unit recognition program. Also serves as liaison with personnel flights on personnel issues and assists in oversight of organization manpower resource requirements. IDEAL CANDIDATE: Candidate has administrative experience with 2 years of customer service desired. Be familiar with military administrative programs to assist with retirements, promotions, assignments, fitness requirements, etc.. Skilled in operational management to maintain personnel records and trackers in an organized and efficient manner. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization. 2. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. 3. Knowledge of structure, programs and work methods of organization for personnel/manning issues. 4. Skill in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems. 5. Ability to gather, analyze and present facts, communicate effectively, using tact and courtesy and possess the ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. 6. Ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment .You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
