About the Position: This position is located at DoWEA Headquarters in Alexandria, VA. This position may be eligible for situational telework as determined by the agency policy. The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is transitioning to the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA).

Major duties

Ensure resources are requested to support requirements by compiling resource data from numerous sources. Identify and communicate risks, deficiencies, and improvement opportunities to management and stakeholders. Evaluate SOA inputs (risk assessments, evaluation reports, etc.) to ensure thorough assessments have been conducted. Prepare a variety of correspondence and other documentation, such as formal letters, reports, briefings, and charts. Specialized experience for the GS-12 - One year of specialized experience which includes: Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting, of internal controls over financial systems, and of internal controls over operation and compliance with applicable laws and regulations; Participates in comprehensive studies, analyses, and appraisals of resource management issues; Conducts oversight of the Agency Risk Management and Internal Control (RMIC) program to include the development and publication of policies and instructions related to the program; and Responsible for identifying and assessing organizational risks to ensure effective risk management and compliance with policies and regulations. Specialized experience for the GS-13 One year of specialized experience which includes: Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting, of internal controls over financial systems, and of internal controls over operation and compliance with applicable laws and regulations; Conducts or participates in comprehensive studies, analyses, and appraisals of resource management issues; Conducting oversight and management of the Agency Risk Management and Internal Control (RMIC) program to include the development and publication of policies and instructions related to the program; Initiates, leads, and executes proposed changes to long-range plans and assesses impacts on requirements; Identifies and communicates risks, deficiencies, and improvement opportunities to management and stakeholders; and Responsible for identifying and assessing organizational risks to ensure effective risk management and compliance with policies and regulations. Time in Grade Requirement: for GS-12: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement for GS-13: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
