General Maintenance and Operations Supervisor
What you'd do
About the Position: Serves as the technical and administrative supervisor over the Utilities Team, Operations and Maintenance Division, Public Works Directorate, exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations. Supervises a group of 10-15 workers directing activities of three different journeyman level trade occupations
Major duties
Plan weekly and monthly work schedule and sequence of operations for subordinates. Establish deadlines and priorities on the basis of general work schedule and methods and policies established by higher levels of supervision. Select workers and assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirement, methods, and procedures; instructs subordinates in new procedures; and provides advice when problems arise. Determine equipment, supplies, and maintenance required. Review job descriptions for currency and accuracy and makes necessary changes; reports detailing of employees to jobs other than their own. Direct work activities of seasonal, special project, and special employment program employees to complete workloads that due to the size and complexity of the activity serviced.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an General Maintenance and Operations Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Planning the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials and tools on a day-to-day or project-by-project basis. Plan weekly and monthly work schedule and sequence of operations for subordinates. Skilled in identifying potential problems within projects and making the necessary changes wither it be in personnel or equipment, to avoid the problems all together - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Lead or Supervise Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic)
