Business Development Specialist
What you'd do
NASA is seeking a Business Development Specialist to expert guidance, assistance, oversight, and leadership to the Procurement Officer, Contract Specialists, Procurement Analysts, Technical Officers, as well as internal and external customers at all levels of industry, NASA Headquarters, other NASA Centers, and other Government agencies.
Major duties
Leads complex business development and partnership activities, including opportunity identification, pursuit and capture of partnerships, partnership planning, proposal development, and preparation of partnership products and presentations. Researches and investigates new business opportunities and practices for application to NASA program and mission execution, with the goal of developing business with potential partners and future tenants. Evaluates and manages business development, outreach, and new initiatives, as well as associated programs and projects that affect broad mission areas. Makes recommendations for new business development activities that are consistent with NASA competencies and strategic goals. Serves as primary contact and interface for internal and external customers, and all supporting organizations involved with business and partnership development activities. Participates in the development of partnership agreements and documents; executes partnership agreements in compliance with applicable Agency rules, regulations, and agreements and/or under other specific partnering authorities. Performs planning, agreement development, and all partnership coordination activities, taking into account feasibility, costs, and implementation factors. Gathers, interprets, and analyzes information on a wide range of business, real estate, and property management topics and recommends innovative business solutions to meet NASA missions and goals.
What you need to qualify
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Supporting or leading business, program, partnership, analytical, or administrative activities to achieve organizational objectives; Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across organizational levels to support program, mission, or organizational goals; and Conducting analyses, evaluating information, and developing recommendations to improve business, program, or partnership activities and support decision-making.
