Logistics Management Specialist
What you'd do
As the Lead Logistics Management Specialist, the incumbent is responsible for planning, managing and directing the work activities of subordinate employees and/or managers within the Property Operations Division which includes offices in Washington, DC (HQ) New York, NY; Boston, MA; Des Moines, WA; Oklahoma City, OK; Dallas Fort Worth, TX; and Atlanta, GA - including: Personal Property Management functions.
Major duties
The incumbent serves as a senior technical lead and recognized subject matter expert in logistics and property management programs within the Aviation Property Management Division. The work encompasses personal property management, project materiel management, real property coordination. Provides authoritative guidance on the interpretation and implementation of national and service area policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational objectives. As a technical authority, advises management and staff on complex, sensitive, or high-visibility issues and develops recommended solutions that support mission effectiveness. Leads the coordination and integration of program activities across organizational units, ensuring that logistics and property management functions operate efficiently and align with strategic and tactical priorities. Assignments are characterized by a high degree of complexity and require analysis of multiple variables, risk assessment, and development of practical, results-oriented solutions. Plans and prioritizes work activities, monitors progress toward established goals and deadlines and recommends adjustments to address changing requirements or emerging challenges. Work is performed with a high level of independence, resolving most issues without the need for supervisory intervention. In support of program execution, evaluates program performance using established metrics and indicators, identifies trends and areas for improvement, and recommends corrective actions. Contributes to organizational planning processes by providing input on workload forecasting, resource requirements, and budget considerations, including aligning projects and initiatives with broader organizational goals and ensuring efficient use of available resources. Plays a key role in process improvement and innovation by identifying inefficiencies in logistics and property management operations and recommending enhancements to business practices, workflows, and systems. Assists in the development, revision, and implementation of policies, procedures, and standard operating guidance, applying advanced knowledge of administrative processes and organizational objectives. Promotes continuous improvement and supports the adoption of best practices across the service areas. As a lead (non-supervisory) employee, provides day-to-day technical guidance, mentoring, and support to team members. Facilitates collaboration, shares knowledge, and assists employees in resolving complex technical issues. Reviews work products for technical accuracy and compliance with established standards and provides constructive feedback to support employee development. Contributes to team effectiveness by coordinating workflow and offering input to management regarding workload distribution, training needs, and observed performance. Serves as a liaison with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal customers, peers, management officials, and external partners. Communicates complex information effectively, both orally and in writing, and influences outcomes through collaboration and negotiation. Participates in cross-functional teams, task forces, and strategic planning initiatives, contributing expertise to the development of organizational plans and solutions to complex challenges. Prepares and/or coordinates responses to complex inquiries and high-visibility issues, including those related to Congressional correspondence, Freedom of Information Act requests, and claims against the government. Develops responses for review and approval by higher-level management, ensuring a high degree of accuracy, judgment, and professionalism.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is: Experience in the application of property management regulations, policies, and principles and an advanced understanding of databases and systems used to maintain, track and control property (i.e., NAS, inventories, in-use equipment, and disposal.
