This National Guard position is for a Materials Handler, PD NGD1950000 and is part of the 114 LGR SQ. This is a Title 32 Excepted Service position. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION Current members of the South Dakota Air National Guard.

Major duties

As a Materials Handler, WG-6907-06, you will: This position is located in the Air National Guard, Mission Support Group, Logistics Readiness Squadron. The primary purpose of the position is to perform warehouse inspection, storage, and inventory of a wide variety of supply and equipment items, classified and sensitive items, War Consumables Distribution Objective (WCDO) items; selecting items to be issued, shipped, or transferred; conducting warehouse validations and inventories; maintaining central locator functions; performing warehouse inspection functions (i.e., shelf life, functional checks); and managing the staging area for delivery of items.

What you need to qualify

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected individual must be assigned to a compatible military position in the following AFSC upon date of hire: AFSC 2SXXX. The AFSC requires an aptitude score of A41 or G44 and physical profile of 333333J. Aptitude scores can be checked on the vMPF or at the Customer Service in the Force Support Squadron and physical profile in the medical squadron. Military grade/rank not to exceed SSgt. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to compare item identification against receiving reports and issue request forms; skill in using hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment to move stock; ability to use hammers, pliers, and other hand tools; and to follow oral and written instructions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 9 months experience or training in receiving, packaging, and preparation for shipment. Experience in compiling reports, overall warehouse planning, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques. Experience in setting up and rotating storage locations considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. - Knowledge of receiving, packaging, and preparing for shipment. - Knowledge of compiling reports, overall warehouse planning, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques. - Skill in setting up and rotating storage locations considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc.
