SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST
What you'd do
You will serve as the Mission Engineering/Capability Management Branch Head in the Mission Engineering and Analysis Division, Warfare Effectiveness Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Major duties
You will begin supervise a Branch comprised of junior level, journey level and senior level operation research analysts, mission engineers, scientists, and military officers. You will plan and assign work based on priorities, schedules and capabilities; monitors and reviews work conducted by teams; manages and coordinates resources. You will identify digital engineering and MBSE methodology to be employed in major efforts. You will direct and coordinate the work of other engineers in performing efforts within his/her purview. You will assist in the recruiting, hiring and training of lower-graded employees assigned to the incumbent for specific projects and programs.
What you need to qualify
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (NM-03) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: Mentor/Train analysts in the application of mission engineering (e.g., model-based systems engineering, digital engineering, decision analysis methods, data collection process, analysis, report production) for mission evaluation plans. Train others in current digital engineering tools and techniques, operational planning, programming requirements, and other mission engineering principles to support programming and budget decisions. Use of research or analytical problem-solving methods to identify interrelated program issues, draw conclusions, and recommend apt solutions. Knowledge and experience with developing and assessment of Concepts of Employment, Concepts of Operations, mission and other technical baselines, tactics, techniques and procedures across multiple naval aviation missions. Conduct mission engineering across various warfare missions (to include Air Warfare, Strike Warfare, Air-to-Surface Warfare, Offensive Counter Air, Defensive Counter Air, Electronic Warfare, and others) to identify trends and opportunities to improve. Interpret researched data to identify patterns and relationships. Create reports, using sound engineering practices and operations research methods, to communicate recommendations or findings to senior leaders. Leading teams in the execution of mission engineering efforts (both technical and financial management of efforts) Communicating with senior leadership in the civilian and military on project management, status reporting, findings, and recommendations.
