Supervisory General Attorney (Labor) (Supervisory Litigation Attorney)
What you'd do
This position is located in the Contempt, Compliance, and Special Litigation Branch of the Division of Legal Counsel. This Branch conducts civil contempt litigation in the U.S. Courts of Appeals to coerce compliance with judgments enforcing orders of the Board and assists Regions in compliance work. The Branch also defends the Agency when programs, statutes, or outside proceedings threaten the Agency's ability to carry out its mission.
Major duties
As a Supervisory General Attorney (Labor) (Supervisory Litigation Attorney), GS-0905-15, your typical work assignments may include: Supervising and reviewing the work of subordinate attorneys in the matters of compliance with the Board's decisions and orders, litigation protecting the Board's jurisdiction, and bankruptcy court matters. Supervising any further investigation to assure the sufficiency of evidence, through subpoenas or discovery tools such as depositions. Making recommendations to the General Counsel and Board, supervising pleadings and other documents, and in preparing and/or supervising court appearances. Assisting the Assistant General Counsel and the Deputy Assistant General Counsel in the Branch's records management, administration of personnel policies, training and employee development, and other supervisory activities as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT The Ideal Candidate for the Supervisory General Attorney (Labor) (Supervisory Litigation Attorney) position will have significant experience providing effective guidance assisting others with complex legal and factual issues. Excellent judgment, and highly skilled written and oral communications are desired, as well as excellent interpersonal abilities in interacting with colleagues, senior level management, and outside parties. Superior legal research and analytical skills are a must. BASIC REQUIREMENTS Education: Applicants must have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LL. B or JD). Bar Membership/Certification: Applicants must be an active member of the BAR in good standing of any state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or any Territorial court under the U.S. Constitution. Your active BAR license must reference BAR number and indicate the status of good standing. An Agency's Internal or a Self-Certification Form is not acceptable for verification. In addition to the BASIC REQUIREMENTS, applicants must also meet the following: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, which has provided them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of a Supervisory General Attorney (Labor) (Supervisory Litigation Attorney) at the GS-15 grade level. Specialized experience includes: Experience leading, managing, and developing others to improve team efficiency; and Experience providing authoritative guidance, interpretation, and recommendations based on general law and litigation proceedings of federal and state statutes, laws, and regulations to protect clients and navigate complex legal systems; and Experience in trial and pre-trial litigation techniques in unfair labor practice and federal court proceedings to maximize leverage during negotiations, accurately evaluate case value and effectively navigate complex administrative and judicial systems. The SF-50 must include your Position, Title, Series, Grade, Step, Tenure (1 or 2), and Type of Service (Excepted). As a current NLRB Excepted Service employee, you may determine your status by checking block 24 on your SF-50. The block must reflect "1" or "2". Also, block 34 must reflect "2". A copy of your SF-50 must be provided for verification.
