Lead Financial Specialist
What you'd do
Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations. The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.
Major duties
Distribute, coordinate, and review the team's workload to ensure critical operational deadlines are met and organizational procedures are executed accurately. Apply professional and accrual accounting principles to reconcile complex accounts and maintain the financial integrity of organization-wide funds. Act as the primary technical expert to analyze system outputs, monitor data flows, and resolve transaction discrepancies within the enterprise financial management system. Perform comprehensive analysis of financial reports to detect spending trends, resolve data reliability issues, and provide narrative management analysis.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Applying professional accounting principles to review, analyze, and reconcile financial accounts, 2) Utilizing financial management systems to extract data and monitor transaction flows, AND 3) Performing analysis of financial reports to identify spending trends and resolve data reliability issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
