What you'd do

You will serve as a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST in the IS3 DIVISION of NAVBASE VENTURA COUNTY SEC.

Major duties

You will conduct a Vulnerability Assessment (VA) in conjunction with other Anti-terrorism (AT) Working Group members in a collaborative effort. You will update the Physical Security Plan, Loss Prevention Manual, Crisis Response instructions and provide recommendations regarding changes in security specifications. You will advise facility security personnel on matters that require clear-cut explanations of regulations and procedures. You will monitor and revise, as necessary, local procedures for the issuance and control of government property. You will develop and administer an aggressive Loss Prevention Training program for all activity personnel.

What you need to qualify

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing threat assessments for personnel and assets which have anti-terrorism responsibilities; 2) Updating plans, manuals, and instructions to provide recommendations regarding changes to security specifications; 3) Conducting inspections of mission essential vulnerable assets, arms, ammunition, and explosive storage facilities and critical infrastructure; 4) Conducting classroom, formal, and informal training on crime prevention and physical security awareness programs; 5) Serving as a Loss Prevention Technical Specialist/ Security Advisor for the installation during meetings.
