About the Position: This position is located at the 49TH Medical Group, Holloman Force Base, New Mexico. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive maybe authorized. Advanced in hire is authorized for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience is creditable for leave purposes.

Major duties

Oversee facility management resources including personnel, service contracts, financial programs, and space utilization and information resources. Advocate and negotiate facility space utilization to promote efficient patient flow and avoid unnecessary alteration spending. Plan complex projects to maintain patient care building within all requirements. Adjust facility management priorities in response to budgetary or medical facility needs. Inspect facility and equipment to determine deficiencies and appropriate corrective action. Evaluate use patterns and identify maintenance or restoration requirements. Oversee the work of contractors to evaluate and verify compliance with statements of work or other agreements. Coordinate preventive maintenance, repair, and/or construction work while minimizing impact to healthcare delivery. Implement systematic processes that identify and eliminate safety hazards. Attend staff meetings, working groups and represent Medical Group Commander at conferences,

What you need to qualify

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting in coordinating all work requirements and complex projects to maintain patient care buildings. 2) Monitoring cleaning services contracts that require rigorous oversight of aseptic procedures in support of emergency care, ambulatory surgery, institutional infection control programs, and/or surgery. and 3) Facilitating the management of an annual budget in order to disburse funds for annual service contracts and annual utility costs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Engineering, Industrial Arts, Property Management, or Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
