About the Position: Directorate of RM Housekeeping with the Defense Health Agency, Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, California. This is a Direct Hire Authority recruitment.

Major duties

Independently leads and performs the full range of cleaning duties in an assigned building or other area. Set the pace of work performance for custodial staff. Monitor safety and department rules to ensure safe and orderly workplace for employees. Require the physical ability to handle and control powered equipment and perform user maintenance. Clean, disinfect, and deodorize lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) CUSTODIAL WORKER LEADER~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common custodial, janitorial, and housekeeping activities within a large hospital setting. I am skilled in loading supply carts and ensuring that adequate cleaning materials and equipment are available to do the job. Cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizes lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Occasionally uses and leads the usage of heavy powered cleaning equipment (e.g. wall washers, industrial-type buffers). Occasionally exerts and directs the exertion of employees in moderately heavy physical effort such as would be required in lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds (e.g., involving setting up and working from ladders and scaffolds). Directs and maintains a normal workplace with acceleration when priority circumstances are present. WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequently works and leads work indoors, in areas which have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Occasionally, is exposed 'to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions used in 'stripping floors, etc. and to serious injuries (e.g. broken bones) from falls, ladders and scaffolds.
