What you'd do

This position serves as a Maintenance Mechanic with the Gateway National Recreation Area. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is October - March, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: October 2026 Open to the first 75 applicants or until 07/20/2026 whichever comes first. Major duties

Major Duties: Performs routine and corrective maintenance of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, building components, and equipment. Performs work using simple and complex measures and hand tools on such tasks as painting, electrical, plumbing, etc. Performs painting projects using appropriate tools and techniques. Performs plumbing repairs such as, faucet replacement, drain cleaning/repair. Performs electrical repairs such as replacing light fixtures and outlets.

In order to be qualified for this position you must possess the ability to do the work of the position with no more than normal supervision. Experience must be demonstrated in the following trades: Masonry, Electrical, Plumbing, and Painting. You must provide specific examples in your resume of how you meet the qualification listed above.
