Major duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Lead Emergency Management Specialist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Serving in an Incident Management System (IMS) leadership role by directing response activities, maintaining situational awareness, managing mission assignments, and supporting emergency operations during activations, exercises, and public health emergencies. Developing, maintaining, and evaluating emergency management, continuity of operations (COOP), devolution, and reconstitution plans to support organizational readiness and response capabilities. Representing the organization in interagency coordination efforts and collaborating with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international partners to support preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities. Leading and coordinating team activities by assigning work, monitoring progress, providing guidance, facilitating communication, supporting training efforts, and ensuring timely completion of operational objectives.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Leading and/or supporting Incident Management System (IMS) leadership and/or Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) during Emergency Operations Center (EOC) exercises, activations, and/or all-hazards emergency public health responses; Monitoring, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or reporting operational information to support situational awareness and decision-making, and coordinating with internal and/or external stakeholders; Leading and/or facilitating Emergency Operations Center (EOC) response operations, including activation activities, operational coordination, and management of taskings and/or response actions; and Contributing to and/or leading the development, evaluation, and/or improvement of emergency management plans, procedures, and/or programs, and applying sound judgment to assess complex and/or evolving situations.
