About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency. It is located in Army Health Clinic Ireland (IRAHC) on Fort Knox, Kentucky. The primary purpose is to serve as a consultant on all components of the Quality Management (QM) program, including Performance Improvement (PI), Patient Safety, Infection Control, Accreditation and Compliance, Credentials, and Risk Management (RM). This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Major duties

Serves as the Military Treatment Facility liaison to Defense Health Agency (DHA), providing education, training, facilitation, and support of programs in clinical practice to promote a safety culture and risk mitigation. Leads the team in evaluating compliance, creates meeting agendas, facilitates meetings, records minutes, routes through leadership for approval, and publishes on the organization’s SharePoint for accessibility Assigns work based upon areas of responsibility; explains work requirements, methods, and procedures; instructs subordinates in new or changed requirements; and provides advice when problems arise. Ensures accurate and current standards for granting clinical privileges. Provides expertise and guidance to staff members in the areas of risk assessment, prospective risk analysis, aggregate analysis, root cause analysis, and development and evaluation of action plans.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes medical treatment facility advising on patient safety programs and policies; analyzing data and processes to identify areas for improvement; providing training and consultation to staff and leadership; ensuring compliance with healthcare regulatory, risk mitigation and accreditation standards. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
