Major duties

This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), Office of Permitting and Taxation (PT), National Revenue Center NRC). As a Management and Program Analyst, you will: Provide strategic support to management across assigned program areas, apply advanced analytical skills to projects, and establish evaluation criteria to measure program effectiveness, productivity, and progress toward established goals and objectives. Provide mission support to the Application Services Division (ASD) or the Tax Services Division (TSD), performing analytical work, project coordination, and documentary research necessary to advance the mission of the Office of Permitting and Taxation (PT). Conduct studies and analyses of programs and operations to identify issues and recommend improvements, research and interpret policies and procedures to support operational enhancements, and prepare written reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.

What you need to qualify

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Conducting studies, evaluations, or analyses of programs, operations, or organizational processes to identify issues and recommend improvements; AND Researching and interpreting policies, procedures, or program guidance to support recommendations or improve program operations; AND Preparing written reports, analyses, or presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to management or other stakeholders. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
