What you'd do

This position is in the Administrative Management Section (AMS) of the Division of Finance of the FDIC. The vision for AMS is to be the trusted, go-to partner of Chief Financial Officer Organization employees for all operational support, delivering responsive administrative and information security services that empower them to succeed. The successful candidate will assist with personnel-related matters by providing administrative support services for customers.

Major duties

At the full performance level, major duties include: Work in close cooperation with the Division of Administration (DOA) to provide solutions to management problems arising in connection with operating policies, programs, workloads, goals, etc. Maintain staffing related data by initiating, reviewing and, when necessary, correcting personnel actions on CFOO employees, maintaining updated organizational charts, staffing tables, and generating reports and other information from various systems (e.g., Corporate Human Resources Information System (CHRIS), SharePoint, PowerBI, Power Apps, etc.). Assist with the security clearance process for new hires by initiating all security requirement forms and arranging for fingerprinting. Work with the FDIC Security office on issues relating to pending security clearances. Assist in implementing and maintaining intranet sites (e.g., SharePoint and other internal sites) related to staffing, budget, personnel and other CFOO sites. Assist senior level administrative staff in maintaining reports related to vacancies, total staffing levels, and active recruitment actions. Process Access Request and Certification System (ARCS) requests for the CFOO and work with the Division of Information Technology to resolve issues related to ARCS.

What you need to qualify

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 09 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as providing assistance to managers and executives in all phases of administrative matters; utilizing automated systems for information management and report generating; and planning and coordinating logistical and administrative support for meetings and conferences. OR EDUCATION: To qualify based on education; applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M., if related. OR COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG-11 level.
