What you'd do

As a Program Support Assistant (PSA), you will work in the Fiduciary Hub and will be expected to perform core duties that are aligned with the hub's mission. These duties and responsibilities will be supplemented, as necessary, by tasks that are applicable to a particular team or common to all teams.

Major duties

Specific duties include: Responsible for the care and maintenance of the electronic claims folder (eFolder) and ensures that all pertinent records and documents are preserved within the eFolder. Receives and reviews all incoming documents/correspondence from the Centralized Mail Portal, Fiduciary Hub email box, or Fiduciary Accounting Submission Tool (FAST). Analyzes incoming mail and determines if disposition of issues and control action has been appropriately identified. Establishes or updates control action, to include all VA technology and applications. Analyzes all documentation submitted through the Fiduciary Accounting Submission Tool (FAST), convert all documents to pdf utilizing Adobe, and upload the converted documents into the appropriate eFolder using VBMS. Establish appropriate end product and/or task controls based on all evidence received in FAST or update existing controls appropriately after review of the submitted documents. Processes changes of address, direct deposit requests and other system updates as needed. Handles Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests by providing copies of documents from the eFolder. Facilitates workflow between Fiduciary Hub teams through prompt use of all appropriate VA applications. Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Telework: This position is eligible for situational (ad hoc) telework only. The selectee is required to report to the official duty station each scheduled workday. Telework may be approved only on a case-by-case basis with supervisory approval. Routine or recurring telework is not authorized for this position. Virtual: This is not a virtual position. What you need to qualify

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement:07/20/2026. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT: As a current Federal, GS employee you must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.. For a GS-06 position, you must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-05 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialize Experience: To qualify for the GS-06; You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) Compiling, assembling, and correlating information to prepare reports for management; (2) Reviewing documents for completion and accuracy; (3) Compiling and providing statistical data for administrative programs; (4) Maintaining files for circulars, bulletins, and memoranda; AND (5) Providing input for staffing requirements and budget needs within an organization. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Full vs. Part-Time Employment: Full-time employment is considered to be at least 35 hours per week. Part-time experience will be credited on a pro-rated basis; when including part-time employment in your resume you must specify the average hours worked per week. Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary. However, there may be some walking, standing and carrying of light items. The incumbent must be able to set up and tear down the VA computer equipment and transport this equipment securely between the official duty station to the alternative work sight as appropriate based on any established telework agreement. The incumbent would also be responsible for transporting the VA computer equipment to the Regional Office for all IT repairs that cannot be handled remotely.
