This position is a Housing Management Specialist, GS- 1173-11 working in Grand Canyon, Arizona for the IM-1541-GRCA.
Major duties
As a Housing Management Specialist your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for the administrative management of the of the park's Government- Furnished Housing (GFH) program Prepares annual rental rates vis IQMIS and provides cost and rental agreement information to park tenants. Management of associated automated data systems. Performs a wide variety of necessary budgetary, accounting, and other administrative duties Responsible for supervision of staff assigned to the park's Housing Management Program.

REQUIREMENTS CONTINUED: As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated. This probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service. In determining if your employment advances the public interest, the agency will consider: Your performance and conduct; The needs and interests of the agency; Whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government; and Whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service. Under applicable law, the employment of an individual serving a probationary or trial period automatically terminates when that period ends unless the agency affirmatively certifies, in writing, that the individual's employment should continue and that their appointment should be finalized. In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated. Upon completion of your probationary period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest. QUALIFICATIONS: Only experience and education obtained by 07/27/2026 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position, you must possess Minimum Qualifications. Minimum Qualification GS-11 One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-09 in the Federal service. Experience must activities such as: Providing technical advice and operational guidance on the administration and management of a housing program; Knowledge of spreadsheets or databases to improve or develop systems that manage housing inventory and tenant assignment; Managing a budget to account for quarters income and expenditures; analyzing housing spending to determine trends; Developing and implementing housing policies to ensure legal compliance and efficient use of housing facilities; Handling difficult or unhappy tenants; and assisting in developing and writing housing plans, directives, and other administrative guides. . OR Have successfully completed at least a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education, or LL.M., that is related and demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position. If the number of credit hours cannot be obtained from the school attended, one year of full-time graduate education is considered to be 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours). You must include transcripts. OR 3. A combination of education and experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position. NOTE: Only graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be combined with experience. The first two years of graduate study is NOT qualifying for this GS-11 position. To compute the percentage of combining education and experience, first take the number of semester hours or equivalent earned towards a graduate degree then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours beyond the first two years (total graduate semesters hours minus 36). Then divide your total months of experience by 12. The computed percentage of the requirements must equal at least 100%. For example, I have 6 months of the specialized experience (50% of the experience requirement), and 45 semesters hours of directly related graduate level coursework (50% of the qualifying education). You must include transcripts and hours per week worked. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time In Grade Requirement: Applicants must meet both eligibility and qualification requirements for the position of interest by the closing date of the JOA. Specifically, i. Area of Consideration. ii. Time-in-grade (TIG) requirements as specified in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. iii. Time after competitive appointment as specified in 5 CFR 330.502. iv.
