What you'd do

This position is located in Seasonal Staffing Office-Pinnacles National Park, in the Building and Utilities Division. The selectee will perform recurring building and or utility and operation duties and to assist journeymen and other higher graded maintenance workers. Anticipated Entry on Duty: October - November.

Major duties

Major Duties (WG 04, 05, 06): Operates and performs operator maintenance on various types of motor vehicles up to 10,000 pounds. Loads and unloads cargo, using appropriate tie-downs. Performs flagging duties for heavy equipment operators. Corrects and reports park hazards. Transports passengers and cargo on public roadways in various traffic, road, and weather conditions. Occasionally leads a crew in the performance of these duties. Drives various sizes of trucks with trailers to transport equipment, personnel, and tools to jobsites to conduct routine trail maintenance. Working Conditions: Incumbent is required to work outside and is exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures. Operates vehicles in all types of weather in a controlled traffic environment. Drivers are exposed to dirt and fumes, and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or from falling objects when loading and unloading the vehicle.
