What you'd do
This position is located in VISN 23 Fiscal Offices and reports to the Health Care System Chief Financial Officer (CF0) as well as the VISN 23 Deputy CFO The position assists the Chief Financial Officer providing decision support to the health care system executive team on issues related to - funds allocation and revenue.
Major duties
Major duties include, but are not limited to: Acts as the Health Care System coordinator for the Revenue Committee Develops and recommends goals, action items, audit reviews and tracks metrics for the Committee of 10-15 senior leaders Design and development of reports and databases translating data into meaningful management information which is made available to a wide variety of constituents Analyzes the health care system practices in relation to revenue opportunities or model modifications and describes short and long-term effect on our financial resources for the annual operating budget Supports position with comprehensive documentation which recommends actions to improve performance or realign resources In collaboration with the executive leadership board, incumbent formulates annual goals and persuades managers to implement strategic and tactical adjustments that will affect the health care system's financial performance Presents findings quarterly with recommendations on mid-course modifications Studies situations, based on executive team direction or judgement, when an operational activity loses its effectiveness from overuse or disuse. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm ( Schedule can further be discussed during the interview.) What you need to qualify
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/22/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes Developing recommendations to resolve substantive problems; Development of long-range program plans, goals, objectives and milestones; Contribute to the improvement of productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency in program operations; Influence managers or other officials to accept and implement findings and recommendations on organizational improvement or program effectiveness. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. You will be asked to participate in a pre-employment examination or evaluation as part of the pre-employment process for this position. Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office.
