COMPUTER SCIENTIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a Computer Scientist in the SE Software Branch, SE Engineering Integration Division, SE Department of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.
Major duties
You will design, develop, test, and evaluate computer software and perform research to advance the knowledge of support equipment capabilities, functions, capacities and limitations following the Systems Engineering process. You will review the work of computer scientists and specialists of lower grade in developing and implementing enhancements and modifications to Avionics CSE and PSE. You will perform computer science analysis and design for CSE and PSE projects, especially related to avionics test equipment. You will develop new and improved concepts, principles, and techniques that will advance the body of knowledge of computer science and adapt advanced computer science methods and techniques to solve complex computer processing requirements. You will provide Software Support Activity (SSA) support, including design changes, maintenance, test and implementation of data analytics, network, cyber security, and support software projects within the assigned system software.
What you need to qualify
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1. Providing software development and maintenance for Support Equipment (SE) end items, especially related to the CASS Automatic Test System (ATS) Family of Testers (FoT); 2. Participating in Cybersecurity research and development (R&D) programs to produce applications that help protect NAVAIR software applications from cyber threats; 3. Performing reviews and analyses of software design, source code, and documentation for Common and Peculiar Support Equipment (CSE and PSE) that was developed by other organizations (gov't or contractor); 4. Participating in Software Support Activities (SSA) for products delivered by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), especially related to the E-2D aircraft; 5. Helping to ensure cyber-safety is implemented for SE software systems being developed and/or maintained in the branch.
