What you'd do

You will serve as a DATA SCIENTIST in the COMMAND DATA ANALYTICS OFFICE of MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS COMMAND.

Major duties

You will serve as a senior expert regarding the development and application of scientific and statistical standards to data evaluation and analysis in the development of high-priority artificial intelligence (AI) You will apply network engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and/or other scientific concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures. You will be responsible for directing, coordinating, monitoring, and managing the information technology (Al) transfer program areas. Develops sound data lifecycle process models that outlines the methodology to gather and store data, in its original form process and convert the raw data into clean, organized information; develop tools and processes for analysis. You will conduct extensive studies and comprehensive analysis of functions, methods, procedures, and practices pertaining to new and/or improved business processes within the logistics community. You will perform staff functions in a command headquarters where the resulting products /recommendations have significant impact.

What you need to qualify

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyze results of data models and simulations to identify requirements, support methodologies, determine results or summarize findings; develop processes and create algorithms for data models used in the development of artificial intelligence or machine learning; use programming languages in the development using models of large structured and unstructured data; and collaborate with team members to complete projects using advanced data science concepts.
