Major duties

Manages the executive's complex schedule, coordinates commitments with other offices, and ensures the manager is prepared for meetings with necessary briefings and supporting documents in advance. Serves as the primary information manager, handling incoming calls, greeting visitors, and referring inquiries based on extensive knowledge of office programs, while conveying the manager's directives. Prepares, consolidates, and integrates executive correspondence, recurring reports, and presentations using office automation software, while maintaining accurate electronic and paper filing systems. Independently coordinates complex travel arrangements, assists in planning special events and conferences, and manages the procurement of office supplies, equipment, and budgetary tracking. Operates with high independence to resolve administrative issues and liaise with high-level executives within and outside the agency, representing the manager’s views on administrative matters.

What you need to qualify

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Executing independent administrative, technical, and logistical support for executive-level management, OR coordinating complex schedules, OR preparing and managing executive correspondence, OR resolving administrative or clerical program issues in a fast-paced environment. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
