What you'd do

This position is being filled under a stream-lined hiring authority, Title 21 of the United States Code (21 US Code 379d-3a) as amended by the 21st Century Cures Act of 2016, section 3072 and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, Section 3624. The candidate selected for this position will serve under a career or career-conditional appointment and be paid under the provisions of this authority. This position is being recruited based on the Title 21 Pay Table 7, Band C (GS 13 equivalent).

Major duties

Planning and managing programs and policies to implement strategic international activities, working within FDA and with other U.S. government agencies, foreign government agencies, industry, consumer organizations and academia. Preparing reports, meeting materials, exhibits and other materials presented internationally, Agency-wide, and nationwide. Contributing to policy recommendations and facilitates advice and consultation regarding international policy, trade, and standards harmonization issues (e.g., Codex Alimentarius). Coordinating and facilitating work of strategic international activities with HFP and other FDA Offices, other U.S. Government agencies, with foreign government agencies, and/or with representatives from industry, consumer organizations, academia, food safety outreach partners. Identifying policy issues for current and future impact on HFP and conducts analysis of their implications and alternatives.

What you need to qualify

In order to qualify for the International Policy Analyst position which falls under the 0301 occupational Series, you must meet the following requirements by 11:59 pm EST on 07/20/2026: To qualify for the AD-0301 Band C level for the International Policy Analyst position, applicants must meet the qualification requirements below. Six (6) years of relevant experience in Leading or coordinating programs to include working with internal and external stakeholders; AND Analyzing international policy or regulatory issues and recommending an appropriate course of action.
