SUPERVISORY SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a in the SUPERVISORY SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST, COMMANDER NAVY INSTALLATIONS COMMAND of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY NORFOLK NSY.
Major duties
You will plan and carry out surveys, evaluating which may include vehicle servicing, airfield operations, afloat assets, administrative spaces, and fuel storage facilities. You will participate in command meetings to assess Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) hazards related to activities such as repair of maintaining ground facilities. You will develop and conduct a comprehensive safety education program through formal training sessions, guest lectures, and supervisor-employee discussions. You will provide administrative oversight to subordinates. You will review and certify job descriptions and initiate employee details.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, standards and program management. Experience with Shipyard industrial standards, methods, practices, techniques, materials, equipment and systems Experience fostering a positive safety culture that exceeds safety standards compliance and devising hazard control measures applicable to Naval shipyards and ships. Experience with maintenance work processes and support equipment, ground operations, facilities maintenance techniques, industrial work processes, ship machinery design, and material handling procedures. Experience with Naval operations involving electrical safety, fall protection, confined space and lock-out tag-out. Experience briefing both deck plate personnel and senior leadership.
