INSPECTOR GENERAL SPECIALIST
What you'd do
You will serve as a INSPECTOR GENERAL (IG) SPECIALIST in the Office of the Inspector General (IG) of COMNAVREG MIDLANT NORFOLK.
Major duties
You will review, analyze, investigate, and report on external or internal concerns relating to alleged improprieties by DON civilian or military personnel including alleged fraud, waste, abuse, and/pr mismanagement (FWAM) of government resources. You will serve as the Deputy Chief Inspector, facilitating the inspection process from event planning to pre-inspection command risk analysis, inspection execution, results analysis, report development, and briefing of the final inspection report. You will research, review, and report the effectiveness of operations, procedures, and management controls, and provide recommendations to leadership for corrective action by management. You will represent IG functions to assigned commanders by delivering command indoctrination briefings, conducting leadership courtesy calls, and analyzing operational data to report findings on unit status. You will conduct administrative investigations, to include interviews, data analysis, and report writing, into complaints by DON personnel of impropriety and fraud, waste and abuse.
What you need to qualify
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in hotline intakes, compliance inspections, and a background in conducting and documenting administrative investigations.
