Major duties
Supports the Director and Deputy Director of Industrial Base Pay (IBP) by performing complex data analytics of accounting, financial, and administrative data contained in IBP systems. Serves as an analytical expert, demonstrating mastery of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess and improve complex management processes. Measures program effectiveness and enhances organizational productivity. Develops policies to integrate systematic data gathering and analysis into standard DFAS Operations, leveraging expert knowledge of financial processes, regulations, and systems to optimize the reliability and relevance of IBP data. Represents the financial management community in meetings, committees with other organizations in connection with major policy and procedural matters, controversial issues, and matters involving financial management services. Evaluates and makes recommendations concerning overall plans and proposals for complex financial and accounting projects impacting the accomplishment of DFAS strategic objectives. Establishes program evaluation criteria.
What you need to qualify
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-13) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: Providing expert-level guidance to senior management related to planning, managing, executing, or assessing financial management program operations or projects, including conducting a variety of reviews, evaluations, and studies of financial management and accounting activities and systems to improve performance and efficiencies of overall program operations. You may qualify for consideration if meeting specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
